About

Emily began her music journey at 3 years old. Her first instrument was violin, and she transitioned into singing and playing guitar around the age of 10. She was drawn to the guitar and immediately started songwriting. Her passion for guitar and voice continued into college. Emily received her bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory of music (NEC) and studied in their Contemporary Improvisation program (now called Contemporary Musical Arts). During her time at NEC, she invested in her art, put a strong emphasis on jazz studies, and worked with renowned teachers who taught a wide variety of musical disciplines. During her final year of study in the Contemporary Improvisation program, she collaborated with one of the founding teachers of her program, Ran Blake, to create a duo album featuring voice and piano. In November 2024, their album was released—it is entitled, “Deeper Life” and is a collection of hymns, Gospel music, Jazz, and one original piece featured as the title track. Emily graduated from the Contemporary Improvisation program in May 2024. Since her recent move to the Milwaukee area, Emily is developing a presence in the jazz and live music scene here and expanding a private studio for those interested in voice, guitar, and artistic development.
